Multi-award nominated artist, Laura Wyatt O’Keeffe began exploring her relationship to her queer, female and Irish identities during Soho Theatre’s drag king workshops. This exploration led to the birth of a queer, Irish catholic priest called JC.

JC has graced the stages at Soho Theatre, Margate Pride and the Clapham Grand, blessed the Man Up Final and even performed the sacred rituals with global DJ Guilty Pleasures at music festivals, Latitude and Mighty Hoopla.

Laura received funding from Arts Council England to develop a full length drag theatre show, Father JC's Holy Show. Laura teaches her Drag It Up workshop at drama schools and arts organisations.

Father JC's Holy Show

2023 National Tour | Book!

Father JC has come out…
of the pandemic wanting to bring people together in song and celebration. JC’s 1st mass is going to be life-changing, iconic, epic, glamorous and just fabulous! He just needs to write it first. He ropes in the help of local DJ to bring the big hymns, the bops, the beats and anthems!

What could possibly go wrong?

Father JC’s Holy Show explores club culture, Irish Catholicism and queerness through stand up, live music and audience participation (hopefully!)

Funded by ACE & developed with support from

the National Centre for Circus Arts and The Glory.

Drag it Up Workshop

Explore the messiness of life through storytelling and all things drag!

Drag it Up is a performance workshop led by multi-award nominated theatre artist and drag king Laura Wyatt O’Keeffe. After a decade of making theatre, Laura turned to drag to explore autobiographical storytelling and queer culture through a multi-disciplinary practice of stand-up, lip-sync, sampling, movement and audience interaction.

Drag is a playful yet profound form to explore personal and societal gender identities and politics whilst producing relevant and responsive work.

Previous workshops: National Centre for Circus Arts and Italia Conti.
