If Dementia was a club night, this is what it would sound like.
There is a room.
There is a bed.
What you do next surprises you.
You lay on that bed.
You place your head on that stranger’s pillow.
A place bare to thoughts, dreams and secrets.
Yours to keep.
Pillowtalk, the sound of forgetting intimacy, a sound installation for one person at a time.
Written and performed by Laura Wyatt O’Keeffe with sound design by Shane O’Sullivan.
Pillowtalk was commissioned by HAB Arts for DOMESTIC Festival 2015 and was funded by Arts Council England. It was developed with the Midsummer Festival's Perforum 2015.
Pillowtalk was exhibited in "By Other Means" gallery, Clapton in September 2016 and played on Irish International Radio for Dementia Awareness Week 2016.
Audiences said "Mesmerising, beautifully calming...the place between sleeping and waking...hypnotic and relaxing”
